The Google Pixel 2

Introduction: On the 20th of October 2016 Google decided to join the smartphone industry with very little experience and created the “Google Pixel”. I’ll tell you now, this is damn good for their first phone.

Design: The Google Pixel 2 has a great design to it has a likable size and is appealing, the camera has a futuristic look, but the design has a distinctly last year feel to it. It is a lightweight phone and can easily fit into someone’s hand. The Google Pixel 2 also has a feature called Edge Sense, squeezing the sides of the phone will launch google assistant which in our experience can come in handy. You won’t find a headphone jack on the phone it just comes with a simple 3.5mm-USB-C adapter. Google Pixel 2 is now IP67 waterproof which means it can survive underwater up to 1m. The Google pixel 2 comes in 3 colors: Just Black, Clearly White and Kinda Blue.

Performance: The Google Pixel 2 didn’t have a huge shift in performance after its predecessor, probably because it uses the same Snapdragon 835 platform and 4GB of RAM. But it is still speedy in nearly every single area. The basic model includes 64GB of storage, and there is a 128GB version available too. Wi-Fi performance is good, it is fast at switching and connecting to networks. The Android 8.0 experience is so much better and smoother than any other Android skin that has come before. The phone includes an Adreno 540 for a CPU and an Octa-Core 4×2.35 GHz Kyro & 4×1.9 GHz Kyro. It is overall a very good or decent performing phone.

Camera: The 5-inch Google Pixel 2 display looks magnificent with full HD. It has a1080p screen that is bright and colorful. The screen to body ratio is distracting because of the large bezels on the sides. The phone has a 12-megapixel f/1.8 unit. Some of the features on the Google Pixel 2 camera are Geo-tagging, touch, face detection, HDR, and panorama. The Google Pixel 2 has one of the best cameras out there, its camera surpasses most phones.

Conclusion: Overall the Google Pixel 2 is a great phone and can compete with the new iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9. Its Performance is decent and can be improved to be better. Although The camera for the Pixel 2 is pretty much perfect. The design of the Google Pixel 2 can use some changing, it should include a headphone jack and should have no bezels in my opinion. The camera app should be better for this phone. I would rate this phone a solid 9 out of 10.

Price: There isn’t much to say about the price other than it is great and there isn’t anything to complain about. The standard size comes at a measly $649 while the XL will be only $849 which is the best deal on the market at the moment.
