Price: Their isn’t much to say about the price. It comes at an amazing!! $409!!!! Trust me, this is a bargain
Design: Even though this phone looks similar to the S8 when you hold it you can easily spot the differences between them. The A8 had big bezels which ruins the impression of a futuristic edge-to-edge look. The glass front and rear give the A8 a premium look. The A8 feels bigger than the S8 and is wider and thicker. The A8 is made of glass and metal, the glass is Corning’s gorilla glass 5 which is the most durable and latest of the series, the metal is 7000-series aluminum with a matte finish. It feels fairly comfortable to hold and fits into your hand, it is slightly heavier than to S8 weighing 172g. The A8 has also an IP68 water resistance rating which means it can survive 1.5m and up to 30 mins in water, it also includes a finger scanner but it is not well placed. Colors available for this phone are: Orchid Grey, Gold, Black, and Blue.
Performance: The A8 is decent performing for its cheap price. The A8 comes with an Octa-core Exynos 7885 chipset and has a 4GB Ram and 32/64GB of storage. The A8 doesn’t have the latest Android version, it has an Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The A8 can come with a Nano-Sim or a Dual-Sim. The card slot is a Micro SD which can go up to 256GB which is available on the A8 Plus. This phone isn’t very snappy with general navigation, multi-tasking, and app opening speeds. I also recommend you to not use this phone for die-hard games, it is not the best performing phone for games.
Camera: The Samsung Galaxy A8 has three cameras. There is a single 16MP, f.1.7 on the back, while on the front there is a 16MP camera with an 8MP sensor. The rear camera is solid that is able to capture very detailed shots. On the front the two cameras work together to blur the background this is what we call live focus. It has phase detection autofocus, but no optical stabilization, there’s also a LED flash at the front. The A8 is overall a good phone for taking photos and can get you detailed shots in dark places and in bright places.
Conclusion: The A8 is not as pricey as the S8. It is a decent phone and can use some improvements such as fixing the placement of the finger scanner. The model for this phone looks pretty good but the bezels let down its looks. The Camera is 16MP which is surprisingly good for this phone. The best part about this phone is probably the camera so if you like taking pictures I recommend this phone. I would rate this phone a 7.5/10.
